Depression Care That Starts With Understanding

Depression is More Than Feeling Sad

Depression can change how you think, feel, function, and connect with the people and activities that matter to you.

You may notice persistent sadness, reduced interest in things you once enjoyed, low energy, difficulty concentrating, changes in sleep, or changes in appetite. Sometimes depression develops after a major loss, stressful period, illness, or life transition. Other times, there may not be an obvious reason.

Whatever brings you to care, I want to understand your experience rather than making assumptions about what you should be feeling.

Signs Depression May Be Affecting Your Life

Depression can show up in different ways. You may experience:

  • Persistent low mood
  • Loss of interest or enjoyment
  • Low energy
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Changes in sleep
  • Changes in appetite
  • Feelings of hopelessness
  • Difficulty keeping up with responsibilities
  • Withdrawal from relationships or activities

The impact can extend into work, school, family life, and everyday routines.

Understanding What You
Are Experiencing

My approach begins with a comprehensive conversation about your symptoms, history, previous treatment, medications, life circumstances, and goals.

I consider the broader picture before discussing possible treatment options. Depending on your needs, care may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle strategies, additional evaluation, or referrals when appropriate.

A Treatment Plan Built With You

I believe you should have a voice in decisions about your care. I explain recommendations, answer questions, and work collaboratively with you as your treatment progresses.

The goal is not simply to identify symptoms. It is to understand how those symptoms are affecting your life and determine a thoughtful path forward.
